The Kazakh Civil Aviation Academy and Kent State University in the United States have formalized their partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at enhancing aviation training and scientific collaboration. This agreement establishes a framework for joint educational programs and research activities, particularly in emerging fields such as unmanned aerial systems, air traffic management, and aircraft maintenance.
The collaboration reflects ongoing efforts since 2025 to exchange educational methods and foster academic mobility. Key representatives from both institutions, including acting rector Kairat Zhakupov and university president Todd Diacon, emphasized the importance of this partnership for advancing aviation technology and sustainable industry development.
Senior officials, including Kazakhstan's Minister of Science and Higher Education, Sayasat Nurbek, and Kent State’s Vice President for Global Education, Marcello Fantoni, discussed the possibility of dual-degree programs and the creation of an International Aviation University, further broadening the scope of cooperation.
The partnership is expected to elevate the standards of aviation training in Kazakhstan and promote modern educational practices. Additionally, the University of Mons in Belgium is exploring strategic collaborations with Kazakhstan, indicating a growing regional emphasis on international aviation education and research.
