Korean Air plans to temporarily deploy its Airbus A350-900 aircraft on flights between Seoul Incheon and Tokyo Haneda during February 2026, operating two of its weekly flights from the 2nd to the 27th of February. This move highlights the airline's fleet flexibility and commitment to modern aircraft amid its fleet expansion efforts.
The airline has two Airbus A350-900s, registered HL8597 and HL8598, which have been in service since early 2025. These aircraft, capable of seating 311 passengers, are primarily used on routes to Japan, emphasizing Korean Air's focus on strategic international destinations and increasing passenger demand.
The deployment coincides with broader fleet modernization plans, including the conversion of seven A350-1000 cargo orders to the A350F to strengthen freight capabilities. This temporary use of the A350 reflects the airline’s strategic fleet operations as it advances toward potential integration with Asiana Airlines and continues expanding its long-haul fleet.
