Korean Air is undertaking a major infrastructure project at its Seoul Incheon base, investing KRW176 billion (USD119.8 million) to construct a new aircraft maintenance hangar. Developed in partnership with Incheon International Airport Corporation, the facility will spread across 6.9 hectares to provide heavy maintenance and modification capabilities.

The new hangar is designed to service up to two narrowbody and one widebody aircraft simultaneously, significantly increasing Korean Air's maintenance capacity at its primary hub. Construction is set to begin in 2027, with the facility expected to become operational by late 2029.
