Innovative Fuel Management Solutions Supporting Sustainable Aviation
Global aviation companies are increasingly adopting advanced infrastructure systems to ensure operational safety and meet environmental standards. At the Dubai Airshow, Krohne, a renowned provider of process measurement solutions, showcased new milestones in its aviation fuel management portfolio.
The company’s solutions include leak detection systems, hydrant tightness monitoring, and technologies for blending sustainable aviation fuels (SAF). These innovations aim to help airports and airlines reduce fuel-related costs, enhance safety, and meet evolving regulatory requirements without extensive infrastructure investments.
A European airport recently adopted Krohne’s PipePatrol Tightness Monitoring system, which effectively ensures compliance with the latest EI 1540 standards. The system’s ability to operate reliably at a single pressure level and with minimal test duration allows airports to avoid costly upgrades while maintaining compliance.
In the Middle East, Krohne’s leak detection solutions are securing long-distance pipelines transporting Jet A-1 and SAF, offering early warning capabilities and reducing false alarms. The company also introduced a fiscal blending and metering unit in Belgium, enabling precise and verifiable mixture of SAF with kerosene, supporting scalable sustainability initiatives in the aviation sector.
"Aviation is entering a new era where efficiency, digitalisation and sustainability must operate in complete alignment," said Jay Gadhavi, General Manager of Krohne Middle East.
Industry experts emphasize that the future of sustainable flight depends on robust, future-ready fuel infrastructure. Krohne’s global expansion reflects the growing demand for precise measurement, verified SAF integration, and digitally enabled operational assurance in aviation fuel systems.
