Delta Air Lines and LATAM Airlines Brasil have reached a long-term agreement to collaborate on maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for the Airbus A320 family aircraft. This partnership aims to meet the growing global demand for aircraft component maintenance and to enhance technical support for both carriers’ fleets.
The partnership involves LATAM’s support at its São Carlos MRO facility in Brazil, a large complex supporting various aircraft components, and Delta TechOps’ capabilities at Atlanta to support Delta's fleet, including A320-200s and A321-200s. The São Carlos facility employs about 2,400 staff and can support up to 18 aircraft simultaneously, reflecting its significance as a regional hub.
Strategic Significance
This alliance enhances the technical collaboration between the companies and is expected to expand their maintenance offerings. Both airlines are positioning themselves to better serve the global market by leveraging their operational strengths and facilities.
"The plan seeks to enhance our commercial cooperation and leverage our combined strengths to broaden maintenance solutions for global customers,"
said Alain Bellemare, chairman of Delta TechOps. Pending regulatory approval, this agreement underscores their commitment to supporting fleet efficiency and operational resilience amid a dynamic aerospace environment.
