LATAM Airlines Brazil has commenced the delivery of its new Embraer E195-E2 jets, with 12 scheduled for 2026, aiming to expand its domestic network and improve operational efficiency. The airline’s recent growth has seen its airport coverage increase from 44 to 63 airports, and the new aircraft will support further expansion, including new routes and destinations.
The initial batch of jets will begin operations between November 2026 and March 2027, enabling LATAM Brazil to serve 42 routes, including new airports such as Cabo Frio and Rondonópolis. The airline plans to reach a total of 70 airports in Brazil by 2027, with up to 18 more destinations under consideration. This broad expansion aligns with their sustainability goals, as the E195-E2 offers up to 30% lower fuel consumption and a 25% reduction in carbon emissions.
Final Certification and Cabin Configuration
With aircraft in hand, LATAM Brazil is progressing through certification stages, including customs, cabin interior approval, and clearance from Brazil’s civil aviation authority, ANAC. Cooperation with Embraer has accelerated this process, leveraging the demonstrator aircraft "Profit Hunter" for test flights and training. The airline intends to configure its fleet with 136 seats, in a 2-2 layout, including premium economy — offering enhanced passenger comfort and onboard connectivity, including Wi-Fi and LATAM Play.
The new fleet models are expected to bring operational benefits, such as significantly reduced fuel burn, lower emissions, and more efficient crew management, positioning LATAM Brazil for further growth within the competitive domestic market.
