REA Consult and GreenSinnergy GmbH are progressing with Eco-Refinerías del Sur, a large-scale Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) project located in Chubut, Argentina. The project involves developing a power-to-liquid facility with an initial capacity of 100,000 tonnes annually, scalable to 500,000 tonnes, with commissioning targeted for the early 2030s. The full investment is estimated at USD 2.5 billion, supported by Argentina's regulatory frameworks and local public authorities.

The project combines renewable energy generation, green hydrogen production, and synthetic fuel synthesis within an integrated system designed to meet increasing global regulatory and airline demands for SAF. It aims to strengthen Latin America's role as a competitive region for producing next-generation aviation fuels. GreenSinnergy oversees technical aspects while REA Consult handles financial structuring and investor engagement, emphasizing early system integration for bankability.

Carlos Villalba, Managing Partner of GreenSinnergy, highlighted the importance of proper structuring for scalability and long-term success, while Rachel Andalaft, Director of REA Consult, stressed the need for coordinated infrastructure development to secure strategic investment. The project aims to support broader industrial decarbonization efforts and position Latin America as a key supplier of sustainable aviation fuel to international markets.
