Liebherr-Aerospace’s Lindenberg, Germany, facility has delivered the first nose landing gear for the Airbus A350F freight aircraft, according to an announcement on April 29. This milestone indicates that the aircraft is progressing steadily toward final assembly in Toulouse, with serial production expected to commence soon.
The A350F, a variant derived from Airbus’s widely used A350XWB, is designed to serve the growing demand for dedicated freight aircraft. Airbus intends to introduce the aircraft into service in 2026, offering an efficient and versatile option for long-haul cargo routes. Liebherr’s contribution of the nose landing gear underscores its importance as a key supplier in this program.
Significance of the Milestone
The delivery of the landing gear component highlights Liebherr’s commitment to quality and supply chain readiness for the A350F program. Although detailed specifications remain confidential, the milestone reflects a critical phase in aircraft manufacturing, with the components adhering to strict safety and performance standards.
Commenting on the progress, aerospace analyst Thierry Dubois noted that this milestone boosts confidence in Airbus’s schedule and the aircraft’s certification process. The collaboration emphasizes the ongoing partnership between Airbus and Liebherr in advancing modern aerospace technologies.
