Lufthansa has been recognized as the Best Airline – Europe at the 2026 Travel Weekly Asia Readers’ Choice Awards held in Singapore. The award honors outstanding companies in the Asia-Pacific travel and tourism industry, selected by industry professionals and travelers across the region.
Gilles Burgat, General Manager for Singapore, Malaysia, and Brunei, expressed pride in the recognition, emphasizing Lufthansa’s centennial milestone and recent advancements. "Being named Best Airline (Europe) by Travel Weekly Asia is a tremendous honour and a testament to the trust our customers and travel partners place in Lufthansa," he stated. Burgat highlighted ongoing innovations such as the new Lufthansa Allegris cabins and the Future Onboard Experience, which will start operating in Singapore from October 2026.
Expansion in Asia and Service Enhancements
The airline is actively strengthening its footprint in Asia, with the introduction of Lufthansa Allegris, offering upgraded travel classes across its fleet. The first flights featuring these new cabins will arrive in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur on October 26th, 2026. Additionally, Lufthansa is improving connectivity between Asia and its European hubs, enhancing access to its extensive network.
The Travel Weekly Asia awards encompass 46 categories, reaffirming Lufthansa’s leadership among carriers serving the Asia-Pacific region during an era of evolving travel demands. The recognition reflects Lufthansa’s commitment to setting new standards in premium long-haul travel and expanding its customer base across Asia.
