Lufthansa Technik Expands North American Component Maintenance Capabilities
Lufthansa Technik Component Services has completed its first phase of expansion in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to enhance its maintenance capabilities for the North American market. A new 25,000-square-foot facility with 90 workstations, upgraded avionics workshops, and expanded administrative areas now supports repair and overhaul of components used in Airbus A320ceo, A320neo, Boeing 737NG, and 737 MAX aircraft.
This facility is the third at the Tulsa campus, with ongoing renovations in existing buildings to increase production space and support additional capabilities such as pneumatics and complex avionics systems. Lufthansa Technik COO Harald Gloy stated that the second phase will add 57,000 square feet and enable up to 40,000 additional component repairs annually, representing a total investment exceeding $300 million.
The company’s recent investments extend beyond Tulsa, including launching a used serviceable material business from its Miami hub and establishing a new engine MRO facility in Calgary. Lufthansa Technik is also expanding in Dubai and Hamburg, with plans to open a new operation in Portugal by the end of 2027.
