Lufthansa Technik (LHT), a leading provider in the aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) sector, remains optimistic about its growth prospects for 2026 despite ongoing geopolitical and economic headwinds. The company reported that its revenue exceeded €8 billion ($9.3 billion) in 2025, representing a 12% increase from the previous year. The firm plans to increase its earnings by more than 10% annually until 2030 under its Ambition 2030 initiative.

While adjusted EBIT for 2025 was €603 million, down slightly by 1%, Lufthansa Technik intends to leverage its revenue growth to fund extensive investments over the next five years. These investments will total over €2 billion and focus on expanding existing facilities and developing new ones across the Americas, Asia-Pacific, and EMEA regions. Notable projects include new workshops, warehouses, logistics centers, and a major new facility in Portugal, which is scheduled to employ up to 700 personnel and be completed by the end of 2027.

Challenges and Outlook

CEO Soeren Stark highlighted that 2025 posed significant challenges, including shifting geopolitical contexts, U.S. tariffs, increased material costs, and currency fluctuations that impacted earnings. Nonetheless, he expressed confidence that the company would continue its growth trajectory, citing new contracts worth €8.8 billion signed last year, with business evenly distributed across all regions. Lufthansa Technik is also exploring opportunities to expand aircraft overhaul capacities in the Asia-Pacific region and is investing in new facilities in North America, such as an engine repair workshop at Calgary Airport and a component repair center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

"Despite the volatile environment, we are confident in our strategic direction and future growth,"

said Soeren Stark.

Stark concluded that Lufthansa Technik’s strategy aligns and continues to meet customer expectations, reinforcing its position as a vital player in the global aviation maintenance industry amidst complex international challenges.
