Malaysia Airlines Group has entered into a strategic agreement with CAE to supply a Boeing 737MAX full-flight simulator (FFS) at the MAB Academy in Sepang, Malaysia. The state-of-the-art simulator, incorporating CAE's Prodigy Image Generator technology utilizing Unreal Engine, aims to provide highly realistic pilot training scenarios and is scheduled to be operational by July 2026. This addition will significantly increase the training capacity of the airline, aligning with its commitment to safety and operational excellence.

The partnership underscores a nearly twenty-year collaboration between Malaysia Airlines and CAE, a global leader in simulation and training solutions. The training centre will deploy the new simulator alongside existing equipment, including an ATR 72-500 FFS and a newly certified A330 NEO FFS, which was approved in September 2025. This comprehensive approach reinforces Malaysia Airlines' capacity to meet increasing training demands across its fleet.

The CAE simulator is designed with advanced photorealistic visuals and dynamic motion modeling to create an immersive training environment for pilots. Datuk Captain Izham Ismail, Malaysia Airlines’ Group Managing Director, stated that the investment reflects the airline’s dedication to continuous safety improvements and operational proficiency. The initiative also supports Malaysia Airlines’ regional expansion and training in Kuala Lumpur.

The collaboration reflects CAE’s expanding footprint in ASEAN, with regional training centers bolstering efforts to meet industry demands for high-quality pilot training. The timing coincides with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's visit to Malaysia, emphasizing international partnership and Canadian technological contributions in global aviation safety.

Overall, the delivery of the Boeing 737MAX FFS will enhance Malaysia Airlines' pilot training capabilities, fostering safety, operational efficiency, and workforce development in a competitive regional aviation market.
