Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) marked its commitment to environmental and community development through its annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, mobilizing 200 employees to undertake mangrove planting and coastal waste collection at Tanjung Rhu, Carey Island, on 20 November 2025. The initiative emphasizes MAG’s dedication to sustainable practices, blending ecological restoration with cultural engagement.
Participants, representing MAG’s airline, loyalty, and aviation service divisions, engaged in hands-on activities such as planting mangrove seedlings and exploring traditional Mah Meri crafts, including wood carving and weaving, fostering cultural appreciation and community connection. These efforts are part of MAG’s broader goals of humanitarian, environmental, and educational impact.
Leadership Perspectives
Group Managing Director Datuk Captain Izham Ismail stated, “Every action, from planting a seed to lending a hand, reflects our commitment to making a positive difference in the communities and environment we impact.” He emphasized that such activities provide employees with meaningful opportunities to contribute beyond their usual roles, creating sustainable value for ecosystems and local communities.
By combining environmental stewardship with cultural preservation, MAG aims to reinforce its reputation of Malaysian Hospitality, supporting environmental resilience and social wellbeing across the regions they serve.
