Menzies Aviation has appointed Kim Yan as Vice President of its ground handling operations at the newly opened New Terminal One (NTO) at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York. This appointment follows the recent award of one of two ground handling licenses for NTO, marking a significant expansion for the company, which operates at over 350 locations worldwide.

Mr. Yan expressed his enthusiasm for the role, stating that joining Menzies amid this pivotal development is an honor. With over 30 years of experience in the North American aviation sector, he will lead the start-up and ongoing operations, including ramp handling, baggage services, cabin cleaning, and passenger assistance at JFK from 2026. He is a native of New York and has previously held senior roles at Swissport and WFS, most recently as Vice President of New York airports at Swissport.

John Redmond, EVP Americas at Menzies, highlighted Mr. Yan's expertise and leadership in ground handling as key factors making him an ideal fit for the new terminal operations. The company anticipates creating more than 500 new jobs associated with this venture and plans to initiate a local recruitment drive complemented by comprehensive training programs to ensure safety and security standards are met or exceeded.
