Menzies Aviation has announced the commencement of a seven-year freighter handling license at Brussels Airport (BRU) in Belgium. This new license marks a significant milestone in the company's expansion across global logistics gateways, integrating Belgium into its network of over 350 airports worldwide.
Brussels Airport is a key European hub for dedicated cargo operations, especially for pharmaceuticals, perishables, and high-value freight. With the license, Menzies aims to improve aircraft turnaround times, enhance ground handling safety, and provide consistent, reliable services to airlines operating at this strategic location.
Following the license award, Menzies launched operations for LATAM Cargo, managing 15 weekly turns over three daily flights, five days a week. This connects Belgium to LATAM's expanding European-Latin America network, highlighting rising demand for dependable cargo handling services in the region.
"The award of this license highlights the strength of our freighter handling expertise, and launching operations with LATAM’s expanding freighter schedule at BRU sets a strong foundation for the years ahead. Our teams are focused on delivering safe, efficient, high-quality service as we scale up, and we’re committed to raising service standards for all our customers at this critical cargo hub," said Miguel Gomez Sjunnesson, Executive Vice President Europe.
The company’s focus remains on elevating standards and supporting growing cargo traffic to meet the demands of Europe and Latin America’s high-value logistics sectors.
