Moberly Area Community College (MACC) will introduce a new Aviation Commercial Pilot program starting this fall, aiming to fill a skills gap in north Missouri. The program will allow students to earn private pilot, instrument rating, and commercial pilot certifications, preparing them for careers in aviation.
Applications for the upcoming semester opened on January 6 and will close on April 2. This initiative responds to increased demand for qualified pilots in the region and the broader aviation industry. MACC's program seeks to provide accessible, high-quality training to local students interested in aviation careers.
The program's development was driven by industry needs and regional economic development goals. As part of the initiative, students will have access to partnerships with local airports and industry stakeholders, facilitating practical experience.
According to MACC officials, the program aims to support workforce growth and ensure a pipeline of qualified pilots for regional and national airlines. The college emphasizes that the program is designed to be accessible and affordable, with a focus on hands-on training and industry certification.
