Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique (LAM), based in Maputo, has recently wet-leased an Airbus A319-100 from Fly Air41 Airways to enhance its capacity during the busy Christmas and New Year period. The aircraft, registration 9A-BWK (MSN 4663), was ferried from Rijeka via Hurghada, Dar es Salaam, and Johannesburg O.R. Tambo before arriving at Maputo on December 18-19. It commenced revenue service to Tete on December 20. This marks the fourth wet-leased aircraft for LAM, following two CRJ900s from CemAir and a B737-500 from Via Air RCA.

According to reports, these fleet adjustments are part of LAM's broader strategy to recover from current operational challenges and expand its regional service network. The airline remains committed to increasing the number of destinations served and maintaining its schedule frequencies amid market uncertainties.
