Embraer-Riddle helped develop the AI-based debriefing platform and is deploying the system in its pilot training programs.
A generative artificial intelligence (AI) platform that automatically produces detailed debriefs of each training flight has been launched by U.S. startup Navi AI, which has emerged from stealth having raised $6 million in funding from backers including United Airlines Ventures. Using a small orange drone, the system captures, reviews, and analyzes flight data to generate comprehensive reports that enhance pilot training effectiveness.
The innovative system aims to streamline post-flight reviews, providing pilots with detailed feedback and insights that would typically require extensive manual analysis. Embraer and Riddle Aeronautical University are collaborating to integrate this technology into their current pilot training curricula, promising significant improvements in training efficiency and safety.
According to Navi AI, the platform employs advanced generative AI models to interpret flight data, offering tailored insights directly to flight crews and instructors. This development marks a notable advancement in aerospace training technology, harnessing artificial intelligence to complement traditional methods.
"This AI-based debriefing platform could revolutionize pilot training by providing rapid, detailed feedback, reducing training times, and improving safety standards," said Graham Warwick.
As the aviation industry increasingly adopts advanced digital solutions, Navi AI's platform demonstrates the potential of AI to transform how flight training and safety monitoring are conducted in the future.
