Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) has announced the addition of a new TajSATS Flight Kitchen to its catering facilities, aiming to support the airport's expanding airline operations. The new kitchen can currently serve over 40 flights daily, producing up to 7,500 meals, with potential to scale up to 15,000 meals in response to increased passenger traffic and airline demand.
This facility provides domestic and international airlines with local meal-uplift and specialized catering services directly within the airport premises. Mr. Subhash Murikenchery, Chief Airport Officer, highlighted the importance of infrastructure growth in tandem with airport expansion, emphasizing that the TajSATS kitchen enhances flexibility and passenger experience.
The kitchen is equipped with modern refrigeration, scalable production lines, and streamlined processes to swiftly adapt to changing airline schedules. Its strategic location within the airport enables efficient meal delivery, supporting the airport's future connectivity goals. Additionally, the infrastructure supports international carriers by providing local catering options, reducing reliance on their own kitchens.
With four decades of experience, TajSATS also manages the flight kitchen at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), reinforcing its presence in India’s aviation catering sector. As NMIA prepares for its peak Winter Schedule 2026–27, the new catering facility is set to play a vital role in accommodating airline growth and enhancing passenger services.
