Aviation technology companies from around the world have established a new industry organization called Technology Aviation Business (TAB), unveiled during the AERO Friedrichshafen event. The organization brings together over 30 software and technology providers in the aviation sector to foster collaboration on technological standards, regulatory coordination, and digital integration.
Paolo Sommariva, a founding member of TAB and chairman of FL3XX, stated that the association aims to create a dedicated forum where industry tech firms can exchange knowledge and align their system development efforts. A primary objective is to establish universal technical standards that facilitate connectivity among various aviation platforms, thus supporting increased automation and safer, more efficient operations as the industry advances.
Nicolas Saudreau, CEO of SkAI Tech, echoed the importance of seamless integration, emphasizing that universal API standards are essential for enabling disparate systems to work together effectively. The launch of TAB indicates a significant step toward greater digital cohesion in aviation, aligning various tech innovations and regulatory initiatives to benefit operators and passengers alike.
Overall, the formation of TAB reflects the industry’s commitment to technological evolution and shared progress through collective standards and collaboration, which are expected to accelerate the adoption of automation and improve digital infrastructure across the aviation sector.
