FL Technics, a global provider of aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul services, is establishing a new $70 million MRO facility in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. This facility will service JetBlue aircraft, marking a notable advancement in the Caribbean's aviation infrastructure and supporting the region’s growing aviation industry.

The development, which will be built in three phases, aims to increase capacity gradually and is expected to create around 300 skilled jobs initially, with plans to expand to 2,000 positions over the coming years. The facility will serve airlines and aircraft leasing companies, enhancing operational efficiency and reliability in the Caribbean region.

Strategic Partnership and Regional Growth

This partnership underscores JetBlue's long-term investment in the Caribbean, as it is the airline's primary carrier connecting the U.S. with the Dominican Republic. The collaboration also involves Grupo Puntacana, a leading tourism and financial company in the Dominican Republic, further consolidating the region’s role as an aviation hub.

"The trust demonstrated by JetBlue as our first airline client in Punta Cana is a milestone for us," said Žilvinas Lapinskas, CEO of FL Technics Group. "It reflects our commitment to quality and efficiency, and we see a promising future for the region’s aviation sector."

Looking forward, the company intends to expand the facility’s capacity and workforce extensively, positioning Punta Cana as a significant maintenance hub in the Caribbean. This will contribute to economic growth, increased employment, and regional connectivity, supporting long-term industry development.

The establishment of this MRO facility aligns with regional industry trends toward infrastructure investment and regionalization, reinforcing the Dominican Republic's growing importance within the Caribbean aviation landscape.
