Growth in Support Equipment Manufacturing Spurs Strategic Expansion
Ground support equipment manufacturer Newbow Aerospace has announced a substantial increase in its manufacturing capacity in response to a surge in airline and MRO orders. The company recently opened a new 4,000-square-foot fabrication facility in the UK, aligning with its acquisition by HAKI Safety in February. This new setup aims to support batch production and streamline delivery times for its expanding customer base.
Marc Green, the company’s director, explained that the expansion allows for more standardized GSE designs while maintaining customization options for specific customer requirements. The increase in production capacity is part of a strategic effort to meet the growing demand from airlines such as Iberia, British Airways, and Jet2, who have recently placed significant orders for ground support trailers and tooling.
Recent contracts include Iberia’s delivery of 16 wheel and brake trailers for Airbus A350-900 aircraft, with units scheduled to be deployed across Spanish airports. British Airways and Jet2 are also engaging in new supply arrangements, further validating Newbow's market position. The company has emphasized that these large-scale programs have heightened the importance of efficient production planning and supply chain management.
"The new manufacturing facility and enhanced resource planning will enable us to meet rising demand while maintaining quality and delivery commitments," said Green.
With the expanded operational capacity, Newbow Aerospace is optimistic about its outlook for 2026, driven by ongoing growth in the global aviation sector and increased activity in the Middle East. The company also signaled its commitment to continuous improvement in efficiency and production flow, with the new site supporting its strategic vision for sustainable growth in the competitive GSE market.
