Air Peace, Nigeria's primary airline, has expanded its fleet by acquiring two pre-owned Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft. The deal was arranged by Lithuanian consultancy Friendly Avia Support, which served as the transaction advisor to the seller. The aircraft include a Boeing 737-900 (MSN 41534) and a 737-700, supporting the airline's goal of modernizing and growing its service capacity within Nigeria and nearby countries.
This strategic move will enable Air Peace to increase its operational flexibility and meet rising passenger demand across short and medium-haul routes. The Boeing 737NG family remains a preferred aircraft type for regional airlines due to its efficiency and reliability.
Industry analysts highlight that the fleet expansion signifies Nigeria's growing role in the African aviation sector, despite some regional economic headwinds. Ella Nethersole, Deputy Editor of Arabian & African Aerospace, remarked that "Air Peace's fleet expansion underscores its commitment to modernization and increased service frequency to meet market demands." The newly acquired aircraft are expected to bolster the airline’s market share and operational capacity in upcoming years.
