Oman Aviation Academy (OAA), based in Sohar, has commenced a new training cycle with the induction of its 14th batch of cadets. This event highlights the academy’s role as Oman’s sole approved flight training organisation and reflects its expanding operations in the region. The new batch includes trainees following both European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Civil Aviation Authority Oman (CAA Oman) pathways.
OAA's achievement of ATO certification by EASA in February 2024 marks a significant milestone in its development as a dual-approval pilot training provider. The certification allows the academy to offer comprehensive pilot training programs aligned with international standards. "This milestone underscores our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and training quality," said a spokesperson from Oman Aviation Academy.
The continued expansion of OAA's facilities and programs demonstrates Oman’s growing focus on developing local aviation talent and attracting international students. The academy’s strategic position in Sohar also facilitates regional training initiatives, positioning Oman as a regional hub for pilot training and aviation excellence.
As the academy inducts its 14th batch, it remains dedicated to nurturing skilled pilots capable of operating across different jurisdictions, supporting the region's aviation industry growth and integration into global markets.
