OMNI Aviation Training Center (OATC) in Portugal is implementing a new digital platform, Aeroplanned, to modernize its pilot training operations. The platform, scheduled to be fully operational by January 2026, will centralize scheduling and resource planning for aircraft, simulators, instructors, and students, aiming to improve operational efficiency and coordination across departments.
This initiative is part of OATC’s broader modernization efforts, which include acquiring eight new Elixir aircraft to support its fleet renewal program. The integration of Aeroplanned with existing systems like FlightLogger and APS MCC is expected to streamline training schedules and ensure a seamless transition from standard flight training to advanced multi-crew simulation, specifically for the Airbus A320.
Representatives from both OATC and Aeroplanned emphasized the platform’s potential to enhance resource management, reduce conflicts, and deliver a better experience for students and staff. This move underscores OATC’s commitment to embracing digital solutions for safety, efficiency, and excellence in pilot training.
