Panasonic Avionics Corporation announced a significant milestone for its Astrova in-flight engagement (IFE) system, which has now been selected by over 30 airlines for 100 different airline programs. Since its introduction at the 2022 Aircraft Interiors Expo, Astrova has become the fastest adopted IFE solution by Panasonic Avionics, gaining recognition and awards including the 2023 Red Dot and iF Design awards.
Leading airlines such as Air Canada, Air India, Egypt Air, Emirates, Ethiopian Airlines, EVA Air, flydubai, IcelandAir, Japan Airlines, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Riyadh Air, Saudi Airlines, Turkish Airlines, and United Airlines have adopted Astrova, which aims to enhance passenger experience through immersive, personalized onboard entertainment.
Andy Masson, Senior Vice President of Products and Strategy at Panasonic Avionics, stated that Astrova was designed to transform the traditional IFE experience by enabling airlines to offer customized digital environments that promote passenger loyalty and brand differentiation. The system features advanced 4K OLED HDR10+ displays, premium Bluetooth audio, and USB-C fast charging, integrating seamlessly with airline branding and digital services. Built on a modular platform, Astrova allows for future upgrades to support evolving technology and personalized content, helping airlines stay competitive in a rapidly changing industry.
