DUBLIN and STAMFORD, Conn., May 5, 2026 — Phoenix Aviation Capital, a Dublin-based aircraft leasing company managed by AIP Capital, announced the signing of long-term lease agreements for two Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft with 9 Air, a leading low-cost carrier based in Guangzhou, China. The first of these aircraft was delivered successfully on April 28, 2026, with the second scheduled for delivery later this year.

This transaction highlights the growing regional footprint of Phoenix and AIP Capital, emphasizing their commitment to providing flexible financing solutions to support airlines' fleet renewal strategies. The deal was facilitated by AIP Capital Asia, focusing on strategic investments in the aviation sector within the region.

Support for Fleet Modernization

The new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, renowned for their fuel efficiency, align with 9 Air’s ambitions to modernize its fleet while maintaining its low-cost operation model. This expansion allows 9 Air to strengthen its competitive edge in both domestic and regional markets.
