Pivot Airlines announced the upcoming addition of its first De Havilland Dash 8-300 aircraft, scheduled to enter service in March 2026. The airline has entered into a lease agreement with Avmax Aircraft Leasing for the aircraft, currently undergoing heavy maintenance in Calgary.
The leased turboprop, 24 years old with a capacity for 50 passengers, will support various operations including emergency missions, FIFO logistics, government tasks, and retail charters. This expansion marks a significant step for Pivot Airlines, which currently operates a small fleet based at Toronto Pearson International Airport, with plans to enhance its service offerings in the regional market.
Chief Executive Eric Edmonson announced on social media that the aircraft is part of their strategic growth. The airline also owns another Dash 8-300, registered C-GJCN, acquired in October 2025. This move highlights Pivot's commitment to diversifying its fleet with turboprops for more flexible and responsive operations in North America.
