Qatar Airways has announced its return to Helsinki and Tokyo Haneda airports starting on 15 July 2026. The airline will initially operate these routes four times a week, ramping up to daily flights by August 1, 2026, as part of its broader goal to expand its network and meet recovering travel demand during the summer season.

This strategic move restores vital links between Doha and these key markets, offering enhanced connectivity for travelers and supporting tourism, trade, and business activities. The flights will be operated using Qatar's widebody aircraft, ensuring high-quality onboard service and modern amenities.

The reintroduction of flights to Helsinki will strengthen Qatar Airways' presence across the Nordic region, where it already operates to other major cities. Similarly, the service to Tokyo Haneda provides better access to Japan's business districts, highlighting the airline’s focus on convenience and market growth. These route expansions are part of Qatar Airways' efforts to optimize asset utilization and adapt to changing economic conditions, positioning itself for future growth amid challenges.
