Qatar Airways is planning significant network expansion in 2026 with the addition of new routes and the resumption of services. In July, the airline will launch a triangular service connecting Doha to Caracas and Bogotá, marking its entry into South America with a twice-weekly schedule using Boeing 777-200LR aircraft equipped with Starlink internet. Despite the route's complex structure, traffic rights are limited between Bogotá and Caracas, meaning no direct competition with local carriers on that segment.
Meanwhile, Qatar Airways is also resuming flights to Tokyo Haneda Airport starting July 15. The airline, which suspended services in 2023, will operate multiple weekly flights with Boeing 777-200LRs and Airbus A350-900 aircraft, increasing to a daily schedule from August. This enhances connectivity within Japan and benefits travelers through its partnership with Japan Airlines, strengthening its regional network.
Additionally, the carrier announced that Emirates will commence year-round daily flights to Helsinki from October 1, re-entering the European market after a suspension since 2022. This move introduces new competition on the route and signifies Qatar Airways’ commitment to expanding its reach in Europe and beyond. These strategic developments underscore Qatar Airways' goal to provide extensive, reliable connectivity for international passengers across multiple continents.
