Qatar Airways is set to operate a limited number of repatriation flights from Doha starting March 7, following an authorization from the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority that confirmed a safe operating corridor. The flights will depart from Hamad International Airport to London, Paris, Madrid, Rome, and Frankfurt. These flights are part of the airline's efforts to evacuate stranded passengers and those with urgent travel needs, prioritized by the airline.
The airline has emphasized that this initiative does not signify a resumption of scheduled flights, which remain suspended due to ongoing airspace restrictions. Qatar Airways continues to monitor operational conditions and plans to provide updates for additional evacuation flights as permitted.
Travelers are advised not to proceed to the airport unless officially notified. The airline will contact affected passengers directly and recommends updating contact details via their website or mobile app to receive timely information on flights and procedures.
Passenger safety remains Qatar Airways' top priority. The airline has offered flexibility for bookings affected between February 28 and March 15, including options to change travel dates or obtain refunds without cancellation fees. The airline has expressed its commitment to resuming full operations once the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority confirms the safety of reopening airspace.
