Following the closure of Qatar's airspace in late February 2026, the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) rapidly intensified measures to uphold aviation safety and operational continuity. The agency’s departments coordinated efforts around the clock to manage the safety protocols required during this unprecedented situation.

The Air Navigation Department facilitated the safe landing of affected aircraft by directing flights to Hamad International Airport and diverting others to alternate airports. Additionally, the department issued NOTAMs and activated emergency air corridors to support aircraft movements, holding daily meetings with regional stakeholders for ongoing updates.

Simultaneously, the Air Safety Department provided approvals for foreign maintenance organizations, extended certificates of airworthiness, and supported maintenance continuity. The Firefighting and Rescue Department activated emergency response plans, increased deployment of vehicles, and ensured readiness to respond swiftly to any incidents.

These comprehensive measures demonstrate Qatar’s swift response and commitment to maintaining aviation safety amid significant airspace restrictions, ensuring uninterrupted services at its airports.
