Menzies Aviation has reopened its flagship Pearl Lounge at Copenhagen Airport after a three-month refurbishment as part of its global lounge transformation initiative. The project involved an investment of €2.7 million (US$3.2 million) to enhance the premium passenger experience, incorporating Nordic design influences with natural materials, open layouts, and modern amenities.

The renovated lounge, located in the departures terminal near Gate C, spans 800 square meters and is capable of accommodating over 180 guests. It features seating and dining areas, workstations, private rooms, shower facilities, and a buffet station offering locally inspired hot and cold dishes, including vegan and gluten-free options.

This upgrade aims to support Menzies’ strategy of standardizing its Pearl Lounge network worldwide, which now includes 52 locations across 18 countries, serving over 2.5 million guests in 2025. Access remains available to business class travelers, eligible members of lounge programs, and walk-in customers subject to availability. The official unveiling was held on April 30, attended by representatives from Copenhagen Airport and Menzies Aviation.

Jo Harrison, senior vice president of the Pearl Lounge transformation at Menzies, stated that Copenhagen Airport is a strategic location within its European network, and the refurbishment reflects the local character while maintaining the brand’s consistency. Peter Krogsgaard, chief commercial officer at Copenhagen Airport, praised the lounge for setting a new benchmark in quality and service. The lounge’s luxurious redesign aligns with both companies’ goals of delivering premium passenger experiences and promoting sustainability through waste reduction and local sourcing.

Overall, the upgrade signifies a major step forward in elevating Copenhagen Airport’s premium offerings, reinforcing its position as a key hub within the network.
