Riyadh Air and Huawei have entered into a strategic partnership to accelerate the airline's digital transformation efforts. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aims to leverage Huawei’s technological capabilities in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and digital ecosystems to enhance the passenger experience, particularly in China and other key international markets.

This collaboration emphasizes a phased approach to developing a comprehensive digital infrastructure, beginning with China, where Huawei’s extensive device user base provides a strategic advantage. As the partnership matures, it will expand into marketing, loyalty programs, and advanced technological offerings designed to create seamless, personalized travel services.

Strategic Importance of China

The focus on the Chinese market underscores its pivotal role in Riyadh Air’s global expansion, which targets over 100 destinations worldwide. According to Vincent Coste, Chief Commercial Officer of Riyadh Air, China is vital for Saudi tourism growth, and the airline aims to serve as a bridge between Saudi Arabia and China, fostering increased connectivity.

"China market is an important part of Riyadh Air’s global expansion and essential to Saudi Arabia’s tourism growth," said Vincent Coste. "Our partnership with Huawei strengthens our ability to deliver digital, seamless, and personalized journeys for Chinese travelers."

As both entities develop this ecosystem, their goal is to raise the airline’s profile as a leader in digital aviation innovation.
