Rolls-Royce, the British engine manufacturer, has appointed Maria Deacon as the head of its civil aerospace aftermarket operations. Deacon, with a distinguished career at United Airlines and GE Aerospace, will lead the company’s growing global aftermarket network, which generated approximately $9.7 billion in revenue in 2025.
Deacon’s role includes overseeing operations based in Derby and London, with a focus on ensuring operational continuity and advancing the company’s strategic initiatives in maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO). She emphasized the importance of listening to customers and employees to prepare the business for the next phase of growth.
Expansion and Partnerships
The appointment coincides with a period of significant expansion in Rolls-Royce’s aftermarket facilities and joint ventures. The company has announced new collaborations, including partners such as Turkish Technic and Emirates, and ongoing upgrades like the Trent 1000 durability enhancement. Deacon’s experience leading global aftermarket businesses at GE Aerospace and United Airlines positions her well to drive these initiatives.
"Ensuring continuity across our facilities will be a priority, and we are committed to expanding our network to better support our customers," said Deacon.
Her return to an engine OEM role marks a strategic milestone as Rolls-Royce aims to strengthen its aftermarket services and global presence in civil aerospace. She succeeds Paul Keenan, who will move to a new position within the company.
