Royal Air Maroc has announced an extensive cabin refurbishment program for its fleet of Boeing 787-8 aircraft. The airline has signed an agreement with Boeing to modernize all seven of its 787-8s, including the installation of new seats, upgraded in-flight entertainment systems, and the addition of Starlink satellite connectivity.
The agreement was signed on October 8, 2026, during the Marrakech Air Show by Naoual Ait Hammou, director of flight operations at Royal Air Maroc, and Fahad Mohammed Al Mheiri, Boeing’s regional president for the Middle East and North Africa.
The modernization aims to bring the interior experience of the airline's 787-8s in line with its newer 787-9 fleet, which features Collins Aerospace’s Super Diamond seats. Royal Air Maroc currently operates 13 Dreamliner aircraft, with the first five 787-8s delivered between 2015 and 2016, equipped with Equinox seats from STELIA Aerospace and Thales IFE systems. Two additional aircraft were added to the fleet this year, previously operated by Xiamen Airlines.
This fleet upgrade demonstrates Royal Air Maroc’s commitment to enhancing passenger comfort and aligning its cabins with the airline’s standards for modern, interconnected travel. The improvements are expected to elevate the in-flight experience significantly as the airline continues to expand its route network.
