Ryanair Holdings has announced that it is expected to receive its first batch of Boeing 737 MAX 10 aircraft in spring 2027, following certification of the new variant. The airline has placed an order for 150 units in May 2023, with options for another 150 aircraft, signaling a significant fleet expansion as part of its modernization plans. Currently, Ryanair operates a fleet primarily consisting of B737-800 and B737-8-200 aircraft across four air operator’s certificates, including Ryanair, Malta Air, Buzz (Poland), and Ryanair UK. Buzz operates a single B737-700, and Lauda Europe maintains an Airbus-only fleet.

The new MAX 10 aircraft are set to strengthen Ryanair’s operational capabilities, particularly on its extensive network from its Dublin International base. The airline’s current operations include over 200 destinations and thousands of routes daily, making it one of Europe's most prominent carriers. According to CEO Michael O'Leary, delivery of these aircraft will support the airline's growth ambitions and fleet modernization efforts.

The development reflects Ryanair’s broader strategy to enhance its fleet efficiency and expand route offerings amid evolving market conditions. The airline’s ongoing data and market analysis continue to guide its growth trajectory, ensuring it maintains a competitive edge within the European aviation industry.
