Saudi Arabia has entered into a partnership with Archer Aviation, a prominent manufacturer of vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft, to advance urban air mobility initiatives within the country. This collaboration, announced during the CoMotion Global Summit in Riyadh, aims to establish a regulatory framework to facilitate the safe integration of air taxi services into Saudi urban centers.
The agreement involves aligning safety and certification standards with the US Federal Aviation Administration, alongside planning for pilot test flights and infrastructure assessments. Officials indicate that phased commercial deployment is envisioned, supported by public awareness efforts to ensure societal acceptance and operational readiness.
