Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has officially awarded two major tenders to operate charter services, with alliances led by Jazeera Airways and BeOnd Aviation selected through a competitive process. These initiatives are part of the Kingdom's broader push to modernize its aviation sector under the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, aiming to support the ambitious Vision 2030 plans for tourism and economic diversification.
The new charter operations are designed to serve key travel segments such as Hajj and Umrah, as well as cater to private business travelers. According to Tero Taskila, CEO of BeOnd Aviation, the company aims to establish luxury travel gateways within Saudi Arabia, contributing to attracting up to 150 million visitors annually by 2030. GACA's Executive Vice President, Awad Alsulami, emphasized that these developments will foster increased competition and investment within the sector, with the projected service network encompassing 48 destinations, a fleet of 21 aircraft, and the creation of around 1,000 jobs by the year 2030.
