Singapore-based low-cost carrier Scoot has announced a significant order for the Airbus A320neo family aircraft, including five firm orders and options for an additional six, as part of its fleet modernization and capacity growth plans. The new aircraft are expected to be delivered progressively from 2028, supporting Scoot’s future expansion across Asia and beyond.
According to official statements, the aircraft will include the A320-200N and A321-200NX variants, both powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1100G-JM engines. The A320-200N will feature 186 seats, while the A321-200NX will accommodate 236 seats, all in single-class configurations.
Fleet and Route Development
Currently operating 63 aircraft, Scoot plans to phase out its remaining six A320-200s by 2028 and increase its orderbook for the A320neo family to 20 aircraft. The carrier aims to boost capacity and route flexibility, serving 85 destinations across 18 countries with a fleet that includes various models such as Boeing 787s and Embraer E190-E2 aircraft.
Chief Executive Leslie Thng emphasized the importance of the new fleet in supporting regional travel demand and deepening connections within the Singapore Airlines Group network. The combination of range and capacity will enable Scoot to explore new markets and improve customer service offerings.
