Singapore Airlines is set to reinstate its service to Madrid, marking its return after nearly 22 years. Effective October 26, the airline will operate a five-weekly nonstop service from Singapore Changi Airport to Madrid Barajas Airport, extending its current route network in Europe.
The airline currently serves Barcelona with some flights stopping enroute at Milan Malpensa Airport. From late October, all flights on this route will be nonstop using Airbus A350-900 aircraft, offering a direct connection between Singapore and Madrid.
Service Details and Network Expansion
The new flights will operate on Airbus A350-900 aircraft, with the outbound flight departing Singapore at 11:30 PM and arriving in Barcelona the following morning. It then continues from Barcelona to Madrid, with flights scheduled at 7:40 AM and arriving at 8:50 AM. These flights are part of Singapore Airlines’ broader European schedule, which now includes over 20 weekly flights to major hubs such as London Heathrow, Frankfurt, Paris, and Munich.
The resumption of Madrid routes enhances Singapore Airlines’ connectivity across Europe and complements its extensive Asia-Pacific network, including daily services to Australian cities. This strategic expansion underscores the airline’s goal to increase direct flight options and strengthen its global presence.
