Singapore Airlines was named the World's Best Airline at the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards, held on September 18 at the Langham Hotel in London. This achievement marks its sixth time earning the top accolade, reflecting excellence across various passenger service categories. The awards are based on a comprehensive passenger survey conducted over a year, covering more than 300 airlines and multiple categories.
In addition to the overall top prize, Singapore Airlines also received awards for World's Best Economy Class and Onboard Catering. Goh Choon Phong, the airline's CEO, expressed gratitude to customers and highlighted the airline's ongoing dedication to service and operational excellence. The awards are organized independently by Skytrax, ensuring transparency and impartiality in the evaluation process.
2026 Top Airlines and Recognitions
The top 20 list features prominent Asian and European carriers, with Air France achieving notable recognition as the Best European Airline and leading in First Class categories. Turkish Airlines was named the Best Airline in Europe for the eleventh time. Qatar Airways secured four awards, including the inaugural World's Best Onboard Wi-Fi, emphasizing advancements in passenger connectivity, and maintaining its reputation through consistent product excellence with the Qsuite cabin.
“This award underscores our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our customers globally,” said Goh Choon Phong.
Skytrax emphasizes that the survey measures passenger perception, which may be influenced by expectations and overall experience. The comprehensive evaluation over a full year in multiple languages allows for a balanced and broad assessment of airline performance, reinforcing the importance of reliability and quality in maintaining top rankings.
