The 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards have crowned Singapore Airlines as the world's best airline, marking its sixth time securing the coveted title. The awards, announced in London on September 18, are considered the industry’s Oscars and are based on a comprehensive passenger survey that collected over 24.8 million responses from travelers worldwide between September 2025 and August 2026.
Singapore Airlines overtook Qatar Airways, which previously held the top position, and also received awards for World’s Best Economy Class and Best Economy Class Onboard Catering, as well as being named Best Airline in Asia. Qatar Airways, nonetheless, claimed four awards, including the prestigious World’s Best Business Class Airline for the 13th time, along with awards for its lounges and onboard Wi-Fi.
The rankings highlight the airlines that deliver exceptional passenger experiences, from in-flight comfort to service quality. Other top airlines in the list include Cathay Pacific Airways, ANA All Nippon Airways, and Turkish Airlines. The survey covered multiple metrics and gathered responses from diverse routes and regions, showcasing the airlines leading the industry in passenger satisfaction.
This recognition underscores Singapore Airlines’ dedication to service excellence and innovation in the skies, reinforcing its reputation as a global leader in airline quality. The awards may influence traveler choices in the coming years, as passengers increasingly seek airlines that prioritize comfort, connectivity, and customer care.
