Sky ICT Public Company Limited has partnered with Kasetsart University to establish the SKY Aviation Lab, an advanced airport simulation facility designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of students studying aviation. The lab aims to provide real-world airport technology experiences, enabling students to learn about passenger management systems, self-service kiosks, baggage handling, and automated boarding procedures.
This initiative, represented by Mr. Sithidej Mayalarp, CEO of SKY ICT, underscores Thailand's strategic efforts to develop human capital for its aviation sector. The lab includes comprehensive systems such as check-in, baggage drop, and facial recognition boarding gates, with features like demonstration videos and baggage tracking systems (BRS) for educational purposes.
Academic and Industry Perspectives
Dr. Damrong Sripraram, Acting President of Kasetsart University, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting its role in fostering high-skilled talent and supporting Thailand's goal of becoming a regional aviation hub. Additionally, Dr. Navatasn Kongsamutr emphasized the laboratory's importance in equipping students with analytical skills and understanding the entire aviation ecosystem.
"This initiative supports immediate employment readiness and strategic thinking among future aviation professionals," said Dr. Kongsamutr.
The event also featured a seminar on Thailand's aviation industry's potential, with notable speakers including the Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand and senior executives from Airports of Thailand. The partnership aims to position Thailand as a competitive regional aviation hub through education and technological innovation.
