Skytrans has launched a new regional charter route connecting Cairns and Cobar, operating a 36-seat Dash 8-200 aircraft. The flights commenced on January 19, 2026, and are scheduled for operation until mid-May of the same year. Company officials state that the service aims to strengthen connectivity for rural and remote communities, aligning with Skytrans’s ongoing commitment to accessible regional air travel. The airline, previously known as SmartLynx Australia, reverted to its original branding following a divestment by its parent company, Avia Solutions Group, in late 2025. This strategic move allows Skytrans to focus on scheduled passenger routes alongside its core ACMI operations.
