Slovenia’s Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy has announced that four applications submitted for its latest air connectivity tender focus on launching new air routes. Out of these, two applications are nearing approval, with the final decision expected within the week, while the remaining two are still incomplete and awaiting additional documentation. The applications were part of Slovenia’s tenth public call to improve air service connectivity across the country.
The Ministry stated that the ongoing assessments are in their final stages for two applications, with approvals possible early next week. The other two proposals are under review and will be finalized once the required information is received and deemed sufficient. The Ministry emphasized that all four applications intend to introduce new air routes rather than extend existing subsidies, although it declined to disclose the applicants or specific routes at this stage.
In addition, the Ministry declined to confirm whether airlines such as easyJet have applied for financial support, including for a proposed service between Berlin and Ljubljana. More details will be made available after the review procedures are completed and decisions are signed.
