Stuttgart is preparing to host the 2026 CMT, the world's largest public trade fair dedicated to tourism and leisure, from January 17 to 25. This event will feature around 1,550 exhibitors occupying ten halls, covering about 125,000 square meters. A significant focus will be on caravanning, with over 120 new products and innovations alongside approximately 1,200 vehicles, underscoring its importance as a key industry showcase at the beginning of the travel season.
For the first time, Angola will serve as the official partner country, aiming to promote its diverse geographic and cultural destinations, from rainforests to deserts, with cultural programs such as traditional dances. Peru will also be represented, promoting tourism sites like Machu Picchu and the Amazon, facilitated through the PROMPERÚ tourism board.
European and Regional Highlights
The European segment will include a collaboration with the Grand Tour de Catalunya, showcasing an immersive virtual reality experience of its route connecting coastal regions and the Pyrenees. Regions from Austria, South Tyrol, Ticino, and the Alpbachtal valley will highlight summer and winter sports offerings. Additionally, Baden-Württemberg will showcase destinations like Lake Constance, the Black Forest, and the Swabian Alb, emphasizing regional tourism.
The trade fair will also feature specialized subsidiary events focusing on cycling, hiking, cruises, golf, and wellness. Supported by around 600 events, the fair aims to continue its trend of attracting a growing number of visitors and trade professionals interested in travel innovations and destinations.
