Sun PhuQuoc Airways has announced the delivery of its first Airbus A330-200, marking a key milestone in its growth strategy. The aircraft, registered VN-A969, was ferried from Marana to Phu Quoc during September 2026, with a stop at Osaka Kansai, Japan. This widebody aircraft is configured for 247 passengers and has a history of operation with US Airways and American Airlines.
The airline, a subsidiary of the Sun Group, plans to expand its fleet by adding seven more A330-200 aircraft by April 2027. This expansion aims to support the airline’s goal of increasing its fleet to 33 aircraft by the end of 2026. Currently, Sun PhuQuoc Airways operates a fleet of 21 aircraft, including A320 and A321 series models, serving 16 destinations from its Hanoi base.
In addition to its existing fleet, the airline has committed to acquiring up to forty Boeing 787-9 aircraft, with 20 of these orders pending as of August 2026. The expansion underscores Sun PhuQuoc Airways’ intent to strengthen regional connectivity and enhance international routes, leveraging the delivery of its new widebody aircraft to meet growing demand in Vietnam and neighboring markets.
