Sunlight Air has announced the addition of a new ATR 72-600 aircraft to its fleet, emphasizing the airline's commitment to technological advancement and sustainability. The aircraft, which features next-generation avionics and eco-friendly systems, was officially put into service on October 26, 2025, enhancing the carrier's regional route network within the Philippines.
The airline modified the aircraft’s seating capacity from 72 to 68 to improve passenger comfort, including the installation of noise reduction and energy-efficient lighting systems. Powered by Thales-designed avionics, the ATR 72-600 offers increased safety, reduced pilot workload, and improved route monitoring with real-time data integration.
Operational highlights and future plans
Supported by ATR's global maintenance agreements, the aircraft complies fully with Philippine Civil Aviation Regulations. It operates on routes such as Clark–Siargao–Cebu–Busuanga–Clark, with a new Cebu–Siquijor service scheduled for launch in December 2025. The airline’s CEO, Ryna Brito-Garcia, highlighted that this expansion underlines Sunlight Air's growth and dedication to sustainability, efficiency, and passenger experience.
With the addition, Sunlight Air’s fleet now comprises four ATR aircraft, all featuring modern branding and livery, reaffirming its position as a leading regional carrier in the Philippines.
