TAAG Angola Airlines has taken delivery of its inaugural Boeing 787-10 aircraft at Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport (NBJ). The leasing of this new wide-body aircraft will bolster TAAG's long-haul connectivity and bolster its fleet renewal and expansion plan for the coming years.
According to the airline’s statement, this milestone signifies a critical step in its transformation process, enabling the airline to enhance operational efficiency, passenger capacity, and sustainability. The aircraft, registered as D2-TES, is expected to operate on new intercontinental routes and replace older aircraft, including older 777 models.
TAAG’s current fleet comprises six De Havilland Canada Dash 8-400s, three Airbus A220-300s, five Boeing 737-700s, along with one 787-9 and several wide-body aircraft. The airline officially transitioned its flight operations to the new terminal at NBJ in October, aiming for operational synergies.
By the end of 2026, TAAG plans to add ten new aircraft, including more 787-10s and A220s, to facilitate fleet modernization and support regional and international expansion initiatives.
